About Mary
Mary McCarthy has an extensive background in sewing, teaching, and business. A custom clothier and designer since 1991, she has developed sewing and fitting techniques that inspire and educate her students at all levels.
Her formal background includes a B.S. in Clothing and Textiles, and M.B.A. She is currently an adjunct professor of clothing construction at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Orlando, Florida and also teaches the Trained Sewing Instructor Program for the Sewing and Craft Alliance.
She has authored two books on sewing techniques -- available here -- and her work has been featured in Threads, Sew News, and on Pattern Review.
